It was Thursday, day 6 of the Brahmotsavam and till now I haven't stayed back to enjoy Perumal's oonjal sevai after the evening vahanams. I won't be staying late either for the next two days because of preoccupied navarathri engagements. Therefore today is the last chance for me to have His Oonjal Sevai. Somehow I overlooked this fact and decided to leave, thereby not joining (and becoming a "kood-aar" = Avan munn kooda vaendaam enru iruppavargal) for his Oonjal seva.
When I started my car, which was parked in the front side next to slot meant for car pooja, my mobile rang. It was from one of our close friend and asked me whether I am still at the temple. If so, they asked me whether I can pick up their mobile left at the canteen for charging. I said yes, walked to the canteen at the back and asked the person at the canteen to find the phone and give to me. Since he was alone serving the food to the devotees, I waited till he finished serving the devotees. Then, after collecting the phone I came back to the front to enter my car.
At this time, I could hear the nadhaswaram playing, which prompted me to re-visit the temple again. Believe me, Perumal is having His Oonjal Seva , made me to join along with few other devotees and helped me to give Him "Thiru-aalavattam" (visiri-hand fan) kaingaryam.
He has overturned my earlier decision not to join for the Oonjal seva, through His divine mobile call intervention , took kaingaryam from me and in return gave this "big" smiling pose.
